viral marketing

Monday play time!

It’s Monday and after being inundated by political talking points and talks of our further receding economy, we think it’s time to play. While HelloSourSally is most definitely a viral marketing piece, it’s whimsical interaction and childlike experience make all the bad monsters go away. Enjoy!

One more way the internet is transforming politics

This is a wonderful story about a clever man connecting with voters (a type of consumer, right?) using very simple and viral techniques.

“Democratic strategists told first-time political candidate Sean Tevis he would need at least $26,000 to have a shot at beating a Republican incumbent.” Read about his success for yourselves

We love the caption under the first illustration, “Called Running for Office: It’s Like a Flamewar with a Forum Troll, but with an Eventual Winner, the comic is filled with nerdy Internet inside jokes.” A Flamewar with a Forum Troll? WOW! We are sharpening our +7 battle axes of hyperbolic retaliation just in case.

(Thanks Adam!)

Johnny Lee, Johnny Lee – Way to shake that tree!

Johnny Lee has been hacking the Nintendo Wii for a while now. If you haven’t seen his head-tracking 3D display hack for the Wii, I highly recommend checking it out. It introduces many opportunities for multi-dimensional UI advancement without significant technology hurdles.

What really impresses me about Johnny’s approach is that while he was a college student, he got our attention with some really ingenious, but simple (relatively) interaction concepts. Concepts that have become viral marketing pieces in themselves. I bet Johnny is having several very interesting discussions with several very interesting companies. Nice work man!
